What is Legal Literacy, and Why Does It Matter?

In this post, I'll be featuring a very important infographic on legal literacy, which I've created after thorough research.

What is legal literacy? In simple terms, legal literacy is the ability to understand the basic meanings of law, and how they operate in specific contexts (e.g. employment, contracts, family disputes, etc.). 

At a broader level, however, legal literacy also consists of learning legal concepts such as the rule of law, justice, rights and duties - all of which play pivotal roles in shaping societies worldwide. Thus, it matters greatly both for individuals and communities, as legal literacy will empower everyone to stand up for their rights, whilst respecting law and order.
