What are the Legal Elements of a Crime?
Criminal law is, undoubtedly, one of the most well-known areas of law by the public. Crimes, such as theft, murder, fraud etc., are mentioned frequently in the media and popular culture, making this area of law widely accessible to individuals of all ages.
In law, however, the definition of crime is more thorough than most people know. It is closely tied to the concept of upholding public ideals of morality, to preserve law and order. Here is an infographic I've created to define crime, and explain the legal elements of it in clear and accessible ways for young readers! (Don't worry, I've ensured that there is no legal jargon, and that I've broken down my explanations. Also, be prepared to learn some legal cases in it.)
