100 Days of Law, Day 2 : Royal Assent
Hi readers!
For Day 2 of my project '100 Days of Law', I'll be discussing the procedure of Royal Assent in the UK, which must take place before an Act of Parliament can have full legal force.
Royal Assent must be given by the monarch of the UK (currently King Charles III) before any Bill can become an official Act of Parliament. In the infographic below, I'll be explaining the full legal details and history of this procedure, as well as why it is a formality.
